Puddle

Hampton Wick
It's a puddle with some leaves gently rotting in the bottom of it.  But for a brief moment it's something beautiful

End of the year

New Malden
Cold, bright bare branches, end of one year, beginning another.

Spring in the East End

Bethnal Green
Freezing cold, taken at the library entrance across the park. This is what Easter should look like

Tunnel with tree

Gracechurch Street
I love the way the developer has integrated the treee into the pedestrian tunnel.  There are several tunnels over the pavement at the moment as the shiny new high rise offices are still going up.

Hanging around

Clerkenwell Road
Autumn was warm for such a long time, and in sheltered spots is still hanging on

Still standing

Broom Road
Or possibly, still leaning, still growing

Mixmatch

Errol Street
The silver birch I get.  Planting trees in London, especially in East London can only be a 'Good Thing'.  But why couldn't someone colour match the overpaint on the wall? The original is mauve/light purple, a blue bias, and the other distinctly pink! Or is this 'Art' but not as I understand it?

Merry Christmas

The church in the background is St Lawrence Jewry, near Guildhall.  Re-built by Wren after the Great Fire.  Except you are probably sick of Christmas by now.  But not the time off.  Enjoy!

Last of the leaves

Tenaciously hanging on till the very end of the year in Shoreditch

East end Autumn

Bunhill fields
The east end of London has a distinct lack of green spaces, graveyards make up quite a few of those available

Autumn Glory

Redcross Way
Autumn sunshine and a gloriously brilliant yellow tree

Almost there

Broom Road
Not yet in full leaf, that gives the deep shadow of summer...and if you're talking about the walk to the railway station, it's about half way.

Chestnut time

Bunhill Fields
The chestnut trees grow in the graveyard, a welcome oasis of green.

First sunset

Normansfield
The opportunity for sunsets only lasts a week or so, as the time changes by three minutes a day, and some of those days are overcast and dull.  So although they happen every day, catching them on a commute only really happens three times a year (because the clocks change)

Morning Dew

Broom Road
It's still cold first thing in the morning, and the dew changes the colour of the grass

Pollarded trees

Errol Street
The practice of pollarding trees to keep them in trim creates strange shapes, especially here where the buildings have them in half shadow

Still playing dead

Whitecross Place
The temperatures up, the sun is out, but the wind is still really cold.  Give it a couple of weeks for the green to re-appear

Purple fog

Broom Road
Near to the river, the fog lies close to the ground
