I prefer the bus in the morning. It takes longer, but is so much more civilised than the Tube.  You can look out the windows as well, instead of trying not to look at your fellow passengers, who are right in your face.

The thing about London buses is that there are lots of different types.  All red, mostly double decker, but the interior layouts are all slightly different.  As is the upholstery.  There must be a blog somewhere that details them all, but life is too short.

Tourists really irritating you as they cram into the Tube, standing on the wrong side of the escalators?  Catch a bus.  And the real shock was that I got home at the same time.  Without the hassle.
