Best View

Millenium Bridge looking east
It's not waterloo that has the best view of the river and London.  It's this

A different commute 2020

Teddington Lock
The world is so quite and the weir sounds so loud.  Usually it is lost in the background noise of the traffic

River station

Blackfriars Station
Blackfriars has one of the best views of the river Thames in both directions

Peace

Richmond
The stillness of the morning, no commute

Early morning skyline

Shard from Millenium Bridge
There are those who think that all the Shard needs is the Eye of Sauron flaming from the top.  But not on a clear soft morning like this

Pink and grey

View east from Southwark Bridge
Diffuse light flattens everything in a pink and grey morning on the Thames

Cannon Street blues

Cannon Street from Southwark Bridge
Trains and boats, but no planes, although someone did put forward building a helipad on the roof.  The towers are Grade Two listed and the glass city rises up behind

From the other side

Tower Bridge
I usually cross the river by the western bridges, but this time was on a 78 over Tower bridge.  This journey is famous for 30th December 1952, when Albert Gunter drove his 78 bus over the bridge whilst it was opening.  They all made it (driver, bus and passengers) to the other side, with only one broken leg between them.

Embankment Walk

Southwark Bridge
Because the river curves walking by it is never the shortest route.  But it is the most pleasant

Soft focus

Tower Bridge from London Bridge
Mist puts everything into soft focus, prettier that way.

Tower bridge

From London Bridge
It's not as great as the view from Waterloo Bridge, but it's might fine

River bus

Millennium Bridge looking east
The river is grey and purple this morning, it's never the same colour twice

Bankside lights

Bankside
According to Wikipedia 'Bankside' is recorded in 1554 as the Banke syde and means 'street along the bank of the Thames'.  These days it's jammed with tourists and school journey parties to The Globe Theatre, but in the morning it is a pleasant walk

Morning on the river

Millennium Bridge
When I look down and see this, part of me asks 'Swop jobs would you?'
